What we store for your account
- Your account email and subscription status
- Your pitch list: the playlists you save, their pitch status, and any notes you write
- Songs you save for matching: title, artist name, listening link, the genres and artists you choose, and estimated musical characteristics (such as tempo and energy)
- Match activity (for example, that a match ran or a pitch route was opened), used to improve ranking
Your audio stays on your device
If you choose an audio file, it is decoded and analyzed in your browser and is never uploaded. Only the estimated characteristics are sent, and only if you match or save the song.
Analytics and error reports
Playlist Finder records product events (such as page views, button clicks and a subscriber’s first search) with a random identifier stored in your browser’s local storage. Events are sent through our own domain to our analytics provider, PostHog, and are not sold. Nothing is sent when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, and you can turn analytics off at any time from the “Analytics” control in the Playlist Finder footer. When a page fails, we record technical details (the route and error message, never search terms or cookies) so we can fix it.
Curator information
The catalog contains public Spotify playlist data and the contact routes curators publish. Curators can ask us to correct or remove their details through our contact page.
Retention and deletion
Pitch lists, notes and saved songs are kept while your account exists. You can remove items at any time, and they are deleted with your account.
